Final Electoral Roll Details

Itanagar, Sept 22: The final electoral roll for Arunachal Pradesh has been released, showing a total of 696,026 voters. This figure indicates a decrease of 191,479 from the previous count of 887,505 prior to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The updated roll includes 343,709 male voters, 352,315 female voters, and two individuals identifying as third-gender. The gender ratio is reported at 1,025 women for every 1,000 men, as per the state election office.

According to officials, 43.61% of the voters listed on the final roll have either a physical or digital Voter ID card.

The SIR process commenced on June 5, with the draft electoral roll being published on July 21, which initially listed 718,046 electors. Out of these, 632,871 were identified as self or progeny, while 85,175 remained unmapped.

Notices were sent to those unmapped and to individuals with discrepancies for verification. A total of 218,588 notices were issued during this phase.

Following this, hearings were held, and documents submitted by voters were verified, along with the declarations made by booth-level officers.

During the claims and objections period from July 21 to August 20, election officials received 18,598 applications. After reviewing these, 8,803 voters were added, while 1,924 were removed from the draft roll.

Despite these adjustments, the final count shows a significant drop from the pre-SIR total of 887,505 to 696,026, reflecting a loss of 191,479 voters.

Voters who are dissatisfied with the final roll have the option to appeal to the district magistrate within 15 days of its publication. A further appeal can be made to the chief electoral officer within 30 days following the district magistrate's decision.

Additionally, the final electoral roll for service voters was published, which includes 5,552 service electors registered in the state.
