Strengthening Community Policing in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, July 26: The government of Arunachal Pradesh is dedicated to enhancing grassroots policing to ensure a more responsive approach to community needs.

This commitment was articulated by Home Minister Mama Natung during the inauguration of a newly built police station in Old Ziro, located in the Lower Subansiri district.

During his address, the Home Minister urged the community to unite in efforts to create a crime and drug-free environment.

He assured that the requests made by locals during his visit would be addressed within a two-year timeframe.

Additionally, he announced that funding has been allocated for the establishment of a fire station in the region.

"I encourage the local MLA and the deputy commissioner to hasten the land acquisition process to realize the establishment of a fully operational fire station in the valley as soon as possible," he stated.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Keni Bagra emphasized the necessity for an integrated check post at Dilopolyang and Maniipolyang, along with police barracks.

Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme remarked that the new police station would significantly enhance public trust in the area.

IGP (Western Range) Take Ringu expressed concern regarding the increasing drug abuse among the youth and called for collaborative efforts from all community members, including village elders, to tackle this issue.
