CM Pemakhandu Addresses Chinese Incursion Claims

On Friday, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, refuted allegations regarding Chinese incursions into the state. He stated that he would verify these claims by consulting with local residents and the Indian Army. Khandu emphasized the need to gather more information about the alleged activities of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) before making any statements. He expressed confidence that no intrusion had occurred, citing the presence of Indian Army personnel who are actively securing the area. Additionally, he mentioned that he would engage with local tribes to hear their perspectives and would also communicate with the military.

These remarks come in response to circulating reports on social media suggesting that the Chinese army had crossed into Arunachal Pradesh via the LAC. Last month, the state's Home Minister, Mama Natung, also dismissed the rumors of Chinese incursions, labeling them as mere "rumors" and urged the media to verify the authenticity of such reports before publishing them. Natung reassured that there had been no Chinese infiltration in the state and stressed that Indian soldiers are stationed around the clock to safeguard the nation's borders. He urged the public not to believe unverified news spreading on social media.

He confidently stated that our soldiers are deployed 24/7 to protect the motherland, asserting that China would not dare to encroach even an inch into Indian territory. Such claims are simply rumors and should not be taken seriously.
