Recognition for Literary Excellence

The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, extended his congratulations to renowned author Subi Taba for receiving the Ramnath Goenka Literary Award 2025 in the best fiction category for her short story collection, 'Tales from the Dawn-Lit Mountains'.


This esteemed award, established by 'The New Indian Express Group', was presented by Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan during a ceremony held in Chennai on Friday. Khandu expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Taba through a post on 'X', stating, 'Congratulations to Subi Taba for receiving the Ramnath Goenka Literary Award for 'Tales from the Dawn-Lit Mountains'.'


He emphasized that this prestigious recognition is a moment of pride for Arunachal Pradesh and marks a significant achievement for contemporary literature in the Northeast. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also congratulated the author, noting that this accomplishment has brought national recognition to the rich stories, culture, and voices of Arunachal Pradesh.


Mein wished Taba continued success in her literary journey. According to the citation, 'Tales from the Dawn-Lit Mountains: Stories from Arunachal Pradesh' is described as 'a magnificent narrative work that gives voice to a landscape and people who are underrepresented in Indian literature.'
