Arsenal's Gesture for Liverpool's Title Win

Liverpool: Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has announced that his team will pay tribute to Liverpool by performing a guard of honour in recognition of their Premier League title victory, according to reports from a sports network.

The Gunners are eager to recover from their recent defeat against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League. Their next challenge is against Liverpool, who have already secured the Premier League championship.

For the third consecutive season, Arsenal is on track to finish as runners-up in the league. They currently hold a slim three-point lead over Manchester City, who are set to face Southampton, a team already relegated this weekend.

Arteta Acknowledges Arsenal's Recent Struggles

In his pre-match comments regarding the upcoming game against Liverpool, Arteta noted that while Arsenal has made strides in European tournaments, their performance in the league has declined.

"In the Champions League, we have improved compared to last season, but we still fell short of our goal to win it," he stated.

"In the Premier League, we have regressed. The points we have accumulated indicate that we haven't performed as well as we did last season," he added.

Comparison of Points Earned in Previous Seasons

Over the last two seasons, Arsenal has accumulated more than 80 points, achieving 84 in the 2022/23 season and 89 the previous year.

"We (the current Arsenal squad) are in a good position," he remarked.

"With the points we've gathered in recent seasons, we could have claimed two Premier League titles," he noted.

"We are not far off; we are in contention. The statistics we are producing are those that typically lead to championships. We need a bit more luck, perform better, and hope that others do not surpass us," he explained.

"A lot of elements need to align in your favor, especially in critical moments. We have worked to enhance our margins. The greater the margins, the tougher it becomes for the opposition," he added.

Arteta Commends Liverpool's Championship Success

Arteta also expressed admiration for Liverpool's achievements and confirmed that his squad will honor them with a guard of honour.

"They truly deserve this recognition," he stated.

"Liverpool has been the superior team, demonstrating remarkable consistency. What Arne and his coaching staff have accomplished is impressive and commendable," he remarked.

"In sports, there are always those who excel, and it is essential to acknowledge and strive to reach that level," he added.

"Experiencing near misses with significant trophies is part of the journey, and it should motivate us to excel in subsequent competitions and perform at our best," he concluded.
