Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case Live Updates: Significant progress has been made in the investigation of the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, revealing startling details and leading to multiple arrests. Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, who was previously unaccounted for, has emerged as the primary suspect. Alongside her, four additional individuals—Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi—have also been apprehended. These arrests occurred in various locations across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with the suspects currently in transit custody.
Sonam was captured early on Monday at a roadside eatery in Uttar Pradesh. Among the four male suspects, three were detained in Madhya Pradesh, while Akash Rajput was arrested in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. All five suspects were subsequently presented before a district court on Monday and Tuesday, after which they were placed in transit custody.
On Tuesday, Meghalaya's Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong revealed that some suspects have admitted to their roles in the crime. Authorities are planning to transfer all five individuals to Shillong either later tonight or by tomorrow.
Sonam Raghuvanshi, aged 24, has been identified as the key suspect in this case. She was found near a roadside dhaba along the Varanasi-Ghazipur route on Monday. Following her arrest, she received initial medical attention at Sadar Hospital before being moved to the Sakhi One Stop Centre.
In response to the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed profound sorrow over the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a newlywed from Indore, who was reportedly killed during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. Allegations suggest that contract killers were hired by his wife to carry out the murder.
