Police Encounter Leads to Arrest in Meerut

In a significant operation on Sunday, law enforcement in the Sardhana area of Meerut district apprehended a notorious criminal wanted for attempted murder following an encounter. This information was confirmed by police officials.

According to Rakesh Kumar Mishra, the Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Area), officers on patrol attempted to stop a suspicious individual near Chhur village on the Sardhana-Mulhera road. However, the suspect opened fire on the police.

Mishra reported that the police retaliated, resulting in the suspect sustaining a gunshot wound to his left leg. The injured individual has been identified as Shoaib, also known as Suhaib, from Sardhana, and was subsequently transported to a local community health center for treatment.

The Additional Superintendent noted that Shoaib was wanted in connection with an attack on a contractor that occurred on Saturday night in the Sardhana town area.

Authorities recovered a country-made pistol and a cartridge from the suspect. Initial investigations revealed that he has multiple criminal cases registered against him. Police are proceeding with further legal actions in this matter.
