Arrest of Suspect in Threat Case

A man accused of threatening to kill Bihar's Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, has been apprehended by police in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This information was confirmed by officials on Friday.

The suspect has been identified as Shekhar Yadav, a 32-year-old resident of the Belhar police station area in Banka district, Bihar.

Syed Imran Masood, the Superintendent of Police in Munger, informed reporters that on April 15, the Sangrampur police station received a tip-off along with an audio clip. In this clip, a conversation between two individuals revealed one person threatening the Chief Minister while using abusive language.

Following an investigation of the audio, a special police team was formed and dispatched to Gujarat. The Ahmedabad police coordinated the arrest of the suspect.

Masood noted that a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the accused at the Sangrampur police station on April 15. During questioning, the suspect claimed he had been receiving repeated calls from a number, which led him to express his anger in such a manner.

The police are currently investigating whether there was any ulterior motive behind the threats. The suspect's family has informed the police that he has been driving a truck in Gujarat and has not returned home for the past 18 months.

Additionally, the Superintendent mentioned that there is an old case related to a personal dispute registered against the accused at the Belhar police station. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
