Earlier, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary launched the world’s largest administrative and statistical initiative, the 'India Census 2027', digitally from the Chief Minister's Secretariat. He urged the citizens of the state to actively and enthusiastically participate in the census process.
Importance of the Census for Governance
Choudhary emphasized that the census is a cornerstone of good governance, playing a crucial role in shaping development plans, policies, and welfare programs in the years to come. He described the Census 2027 as a historically significant initiative from a technical standpoint, highlighting that it will feature complete digital data collection and self-enumeration options available from now until May 1. The first phase of the Census 2027 in the state will involve housing listing and counting, scheduled from May 2 to May 31, 2026.
