Army Preparedness and Future Strategies

Pathankot, Feb 26: Lt General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the chief of the Western Command, emphasized the Army's readiness for any future challenges, stating that nuclear threats will not hinder their operations. He declared that any forthcoming conflict would yield a decisive outcome on the battlefield.

During a speech to troops following an investiture ceremony at Dhyan Singh Stadium in Mamoon Military Station, he recounted how, during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan attempted to negotiate a ceasefire while simultaneously issuing nuclear threats.

"They claimed that if they were to fall, they would take half the world with them. We disregarded their nuclear threats during Operation Sindoor. This time, we are better equipped and have a clear strategy for the future," he remarked.

Lt General Katiyar criticized the military leadership of Pakistan for fostering a "war-like atmosphere" with India to maintain their relevance among their populace.

"While our leaders focus on the nation's progress, their leaders and military generals are motivated by self-interest—clinging to power and staying relevant. To achieve this, they perpetuate a state of conflict with India," he stated.

He asserted that Pakistan lacks the courage and capability to engage India in direct combat, opting instead for proxy warfare to instigate a response.

"Pakistan has consistently provoked India through terrorist groups, hoping that our retaliation escalates into a larger conflict, thereby rallying support from their citizens," the Army commander explained.

Lt General Katiyar highlighted that future victories would extend beyond merely destroying bases or posts. "This time, our success will not be confined to just demolishing their installations; it will be a comprehensive victory on the ground. It will be so overwhelming that they will have to acknowledge their defeat before the international community," he asserted.

He emphasized the importance of the formations under the Western Command, stating that their readiness and positioning would be vital for achieving significant objectives in future operations.

"You must possess the bravery to penetrate enemy territory, capture strategic locations, and inflict damage. Your achievements in the upcoming operations will bring pride to the nation," he encouraged the troops.

In a demonstration held on a training field, the Army commander noted that honoring units in a combat environment, rather than in a traditional hall, underscores the Army's commitment to combat readiness.
