Insights from Robert Couturier on Epstein's Island

Renowned French architect Robert Couturier has shared insights regarding his short-lived engagement with Jeffrey Epstein’s private island. He was initially contracted for the project but withdrew after a few months, subsequently notifying the FBI about his concerns. In a conversation with a news outlet, Couturier expressed that he noticed several alarming signs during his time there. He remarked, “It’s clear… you don’t place women on bunk beds. Everyone was aware of the situation on that island, including the staff.”

'The Atmosphere Was Disturbing,' Couturier Reflects

Couturier recounted his inquiries to Epstein regarding the bunk beds, to which Epstein replied, “No… these are for the girls.” He also mentioned a room filled with computers, which Epstein claimed was “for the girls when they have fun.” Couturier described the property as unsettling, with heavy dark curtains and rarely opened windows, creating a “terrible” ambiance.

Regarding visitors who claimed to see nothing amiss, Couturier stated, “You can choose to be oblivious… but it’s hard to believe anyone could visit that island and not notice something strange.” He revealed that he was questioned by authorities in 2010, but no subsequent actions were taken.

Reports referenced by the news outlet include testimonies from former staff members who described rooms adorned with images of young girls, some appearing topless and around the ages of 15 to 16. Staff also reported witnessing Epstein frequently bringing girls or young women into his bedroom. One staff member recounted seeing an unidentified man with underage girls who were naked and claimed to have seen Prince Andrew with a young girl in a pool.

According to prosecutors in the US Virgin Islands, Epstein allegedly coerced girls as young as 12 into sexual acts, with one victim reportedly attempting to escape by swimming away from the island. Couturier emphasized, “The girls and young women on the island were essentially captives. Leaving was not an option.”
