New Akashvani Studio to Enhance Cultural Broadcasting

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has officially granted approval for the establishment of an Akashvani studio in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, as announced on Friday. An official confirmed this development.

Central Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju met with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to hand over the approval letter.

Expressing gratitude towards the central government for this approval, Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the Malwa region. He stated, “In today’s information age, broadcasting media holds significant importance alongside other communication channels. Akashvani has its authenticity, making Ujjain, along with Indore, a crucial center for setting up a studio.”

Yadav mentioned that he had previously met with Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan on July 8, where he requested the establishment of an Akashvani center and studio in Ujjain. He added, “The central government has approved this initiative. Until the setup is complete, Akashvani Indore will provide short-term broadcasts six days a week.”

With the upcoming Simhastha-2028 event, Yadav noted that the approval for the Akashvani setup in Ujjain is a significant achievement in expanding official media services.

He emphasized the necessity of a fully-equipped radio station to encourage local artists from Ujjain and the Malwa region. This initiative will not only promote arts and culture but also facilitate outreach to rural and tribal areas.

Yadav remarked, “The dissemination of information regarding central and state government schemes and the expansion of community radio networks will prove beneficial. It will significantly aid in conveying public welfare decisions to remote rural areas.”

Prasar Bharati has initiated efforts to enhance broadcasting services in India by utilizing modern technology. Popular Akashvani channels can now be accessed on smartphones, tablets, and personal computers with high-quality audio.
