Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated the self-nomination process for the National Teacher Award 2025. This opportunity is available for teachers and principals from private independent schools affiliated with CBSE, who can apply through the official website.

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for this esteemed award, teachers must have a minimum of 10 years of continuous service in schools recognized by a valid board of education by March 31, 2025. For principals, the criteria include 10 years of teaching experience and 5 years in a principal role within CBSE-affiliated institutions by the same date. Additionally, retirees who leave their positions on or after March 31, 2025, are also eligible to apply. It's important to note that principals cannot apply in the teacher category, and each applicant may submit only one application.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online exclusively through the CBSE website at cbseit.in/cbse/2025/tchawrd. The deadline for submissions is July 6, 2025.

Required Documents for Submission

Applicants need to upload a declaration statement confirming the accuracy of their information, along with recommendation letters and service certificates signed by the school head. Academic documents from Class 10 to postgraduate level must be provided in scanned format, including mark sheets from board or school examinations. All documents should be in PDF format, not exceeding 1MB, and must be authenticated by the head of the school for both teachers and principals.

Selection Criteria

The CBSE will assess candidates based on their service duration, qualifications, age, and examination performance. A merit list will be compiled, and the top 24 candidates will be chosen. In case of ties, additional criteria may be considered. Shortlisted candidates will have two days to upload verified documents. The final selection will be conducted by the National Level Scrutiny Committee, which will include an interaction phase to finalize six awardees.

Encouragement for Heads of Institutions

Institution heads are urged to inform eligible staff members about this opportunity and ensure timely completion of the application process.
