On Thursday, the Men's Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the inclusion of all-rounder Anukul Roy in the India A team for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. He takes the place of left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey, who has been selected for India's Test and ODI teams for the home series against Afghanistan, according to a BCCI media release.

The tri-series will see Sri Lanka A, India A, and Afghanistan A competing in Dambulla from June 9 to June 21, 2026. Star batter Tilak Varma will captain the team, while the 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has impressed with over 500 runs in the IPL 2026 season, is also part of the squad. Riyan Parag, captain of the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, has been named vice-captain for this series.

The fourth match will see India A take on Sri Lanka A again on June 15, followed by another match against Afghanistan A on June 17. The sixth match will occur on June 19, with Afghanistan A meeting Sri Lanka A. The group stage will conclude with the final on June 21, 2026.
