In a conversation with content creator Lilly Singh, the 'Dil Dhadakne Do' actor discussed one of his regrets in life. He stated, "Of course, I am very close to my siblings, but I started focusing on my career at a very young age, around 18 or 19. I was in school, then went to college, but before I could finish my studies, my father's health deteriorated. He had a heart attack. As a film producer, it was challenging for him to have me as the lead actor in his films."

Anil further explained that his determination to become an actor meant he couldn't dedicate enough time or emotional energy to his family. He remarked, "I was adamant about becoming an actor and landing lead roles. In pursuing my career, I truly couldn't give them the time or express my feelings. I was constantly focused on building my career and becoming an actor, which kept me busy looking for work."

He acknowledged that his siblings often felt this distance and now he regrets it. He shared, "All my siblings are very emotional and often meet each other. But I have always been a bit different. Sometimes they felt that I was too engrossed in chasing my dreams. I am connected to them, but not in the way that people typically are. This is something I regret today."
