They met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to discuss the extensive damage, which has been estimated at ₹6,362 crores. The cyclone, which hit near Kakinada, affected nearly 9.53 lakh people, prompting the state government to seek immediate relief funds to aid recovery efforts. Ministers Meet with Central Authorities

On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh ministers Nara Lokesh and V. Anita met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to request immediate central assistance to help the state recover from the devastation caused by Cyclone 'Monta'.


The ministers also engaged with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, informing him about the agricultural losses incurred due to the cyclone.


Assessment of Damage and Relief Request

The state government, led by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a key ally of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has estimated the total damage at ₹6,362 crores and is seeking approximately ₹902 crores in immediate relief from the central government.


According to a statement from the state government, Cyclone 'Monta' struck near Kakinada on October 28, bringing winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour and heavy rainfall, which affected around 9.53 lakh individuals.
