Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Andhra Pradesh government has initiated a significant evacuation operation for students and residents near the border. Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state is working diligently to bring back its citizens from various regions, ensuring they receive transportation, shelter, and food. Evacuation Efforts Underway

In light of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has initiated a large-scale evacuation operation to ensure the safety of students and residents near the international border. The state is actively working to bring back its citizens from Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, providing them with transportation, shelter, and food. So far, 441 students have arrived at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi. Among them, 158 have returned to their hometowns, while 283 remain at the facility.


Among those evacuated are 130 students from the National Institute of Technology in Srinagar, 120 from Lovely Professional University, 16 from Sher-e-Kashmir Agricultural University, and 10 from Imrin Tech Skills University in Punjab. An additional 20 students from NIT Srinagar are expected to arrive by Monday evening. To facilitate travel, the state has issued 40 emergency quota tickets for train journeys and is arranging meals for the 300 students currently residing at the Bhavan. A 24/7 control room has also been established to assist students still in border areas.
