The project for Bhogapuram Airport was initiated in 2014 under the Telugu Desam Party's government, and the current coalition government has expedited its development, completing the construction within two years. On Saturday, Chief Minister Naidu held a high-level review meeting to prepare for the inauguration. Attendees included Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, State Minister N. Manohar, BJP State President P.V.N. Madhav, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, and other senior officials. Representatives from the Civil Aviation Department and the airport construction company GMR provided updates on infrastructure, facilities, and operational readiness. They confirmed that all eight essential legal approvals required to commence operations have been obtained.

While addressing the assembly, Naidu emphasized that the Bhogapuram International Airport would play a crucial role in the development of northern Andhra.
