Andhra Pradesh Celebrates Historic 11th International Yoga Day with Record Participation
Historic Achievements on Yoga Day
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, declared the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations as both historic and successful, announcing that the state has set two Guinness World Records.
After participating in a yoga session alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi at RK Beach, Naidu informed the media that a remarkable 303,000 individuals practiced yoga simultaneously at a single location, establishing a world record. The exact number of participants will be confirmed by the Guinness World Records authority.
Additionally, he mentioned that approximately 22,000 tribal students performed 108 sun salutations in 108 minutes at the same venue, achieving another world record. The Chief Minister remarked, “The 11th International Yoga Day was a grand event. We have made history.”
Naidu also noted that the state government initially anticipated around two million registrations for Yoga Day, but the figure surged to an impressive 2.45 million.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Naidu, and other dignitaries participated in the event held at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam.
