Andhra Pradesh Aims to Provide Safe Drinking Water and Housing for Tribal Families by 2027

Commitment to Tribal Welfare in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), August 9 - Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Sunday that every tribal family in the state will have access to safe drinking water and housing by the year 2027. He emphasized the commitment of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government towards the welfare and rights of tribal communities. Speaking at an event held at the Ambedkar Art Vedic Hall in celebration of World Tribal Day, Naidu highlighted the harmonious relationship that tribal communities maintain with nature while preserving their rich cultural heritage and traditions.

Naidu stated, “In line with the NDA's commitment to the welfare and rights of tribal communities, efforts are underway to ensure that every tribal family in the state has access to safe drinking water and housing by 2027.” He further mentioned that to alleviate the reliance on traditional methods, such as carrying patients on stretchers in remote tribal areas, mobile medical units 108 and 104, along with feeder ambulances, have been deployed. The Chief Minister also noted that mobile towers are being installed to enhance digital connectivity in tribal regions. He revealed that the state government has allocated ₹4,764 crores for the development of the 2.73 million tribal residents in the area.

Integrated Tribal Development Agencies are actively working on infrastructure, employment, livelihood, and skill development initiatives.
