Anantjeet Singh Naruka's Journey in Skeet Shooting

Anantjeet Singh Naruka, a member of the Indian men's skeet shooting team, attributes his success to his parents, especially his father, who was also a shooter. After winning two bronze medals for India at the 2026 Asian Games, he expressed gratitude for their support. Naruka emphasized the importance of preparing for the upcoming World Championship in November, which will provide opportunities for Olympic qualification. He stated, "I owe my entry into this sport to my parents. My father, being a shooter, was instrumental in introducing me to skeet shooting. As we gear up for the Olympics, our focus shifts to the World Championship, which is crucial for securing Olympic spots. The Rajasthan government has been a great source of motivation for us, and I hope their support continues to inspire athletes. This encouragement is vital for our performance at both the Asian Games and the Olympics."

Achievements at the Asian Games

The Indian skeet team, consisting of Anantjeet, Bhavtegh, and Mairaj, clinched bronze in the men's team event with a total score of 346. Qatar took home the gold with 353 points, while Kuwait secured the silver with 348 points.

In addition to the team success, Anantjeet also earned a bronze medal in the mixed team skeet event alongside Parinaaz Dhaliwal, finishing behind gold medalists China and silver medalists South Korea.

As of now, India has amassed a total of 30 medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, which includes four gold, 12 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
