Amit Shah Arrives in Kolkata for Two-Day Visit
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to arrive in Kolkata on Saturday for a two-day visit to West Bengal. This marks his first trip to the state following the success of 'Operation Sindoor'. On Sunday, Shah will participate in various official and party events. His day will commence with the inauguration of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) located in the outskirts of Kolkata at Rajarhat.
Party Conference and Future Plans
Later, Shah will address BJP leaders and officials at a party conference held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. According to party insiders, the meeting is expected to focus on the BJP's roadmap for West Bengal ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. Sukanta Majumdar, the state BJP president and a central minister, stated, "Amit Shah will provide us with a roadmap for the upcoming assembly elections in the state."
Visit to Swami Vivekananda's Ancestral Home
Shah will also visit the ancestral home of Swami Vivekananda located on Shimla Street in North Kolkata. This visit comes shortly after the military operation 'Operation Sindoor', initiated following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
