Amit Shah's Two-Day Visit to Tamil Nadu

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day trip to Tamil Nadu starting January 4. During this visit, he will address the concluding ceremony of the statewide political campaign led by BJP's state president Nainar Nagendran in Pudukkottai. Additionally, Shah will participate in the 'Modi Pongal' event organized by the BJP's district unit and will travel to Tiruchirappalli on January 5 to visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple.

Confirming the details of the visit, Nagendran informed reporters in Tirunelveli that arrangements are being made to ensure an attendance of approximately 50,000 people at the event in Pudukkottai.

Preparations for the Political Rally

According to a party source, preparations are underway to construct an attractive stage on 49 acres of land along the Tiruchirappalli Road, complete with adequate lighting and seating arrangements. Barricades will be installed to manage the crowd effectively. Nagendran initiated his statewide campaign, 'Tamizhagam Thalai Nimira Tamizhinin Payanam' (A Tamil Journey to Honor Tamil Nadu), on October 12 from Madurai, targeting the ruling DMK government.

Criticism of DMK's Social Justice Claims

Nagendran criticized the DMK's alleged double standards regarding social justice, asserting that while DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin speaks about social justice and promotes the 'Samathuva' (Equality) Pongal celebration, he has neglected the concerns of sanitation workers. The BJP president expressed on the social media platform 'X' that it is shameful that sanitation workers continue to face hardships while the world celebrates the New Year, as the DMK has failed to fulfill its promise to regularize their services made during the 2021 assembly elections.

He questioned, 'In addition to your unfulfilled electoral promises, has your Dravidian-style government forgotten that sanitation workers are also human beings?' He claimed that the 'tears' of sanitation workers would ultimately lead to a change in power in this year's assembly elections.
