Kangra: Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, is set to visit Himachal Pradesh on December 20, marking his first trip to the state since the Assembly elections in 2022. He will serve as the chief guest at the Border Security Force (BSF) Foundation Day celebrations, which will take place at the SSB training center located in Sapri, Kangra district.
In preparation for his visit, the Kangra district administration has heightened security measures in Jwalamukhi and its surrounding areas. To facilitate the movement of VIPs, four major routes will be temporarily closed. Traffic diversions have been established, and authorities are urging commuters to cooperate during this time.
According to Jwalamukhi SHO Sanjay Kumar, "The Home Minister will participate in the BSF Foundation Day event at the SSB training center. We have implemented temporary traffic restrictions and diversions on key routes to ensure security and smooth movement. We ask the public to assist the police during this period."
Police have conducted rehearsals to optimize traffic and security arrangements. While it remains uncertain if Amit Shah will engage in any political events in the district, officials are taking all necessary precautions to prevent any issues.
Traffic restrictions will be enforced on routes from Dehra to Jwalamukhi, Nadaun to Jwalamukhi, Kangra to Dehra, and Jwalamukhi to Khola, Sapri, Khundia, and Ranital.
These restrictions will be active from 11:15 AM until the Home Minister arrives at the venue and will resume from 2 PM until his departure. Emergency and medical vehicles will be allowed access via alternate routes. Authorities have confirmed that all preparations are complete to ensure a secure visit for Amit Shah while minimizing public inconvenience.
