Amit Shah's Two-Day Visit to Assam
Guwahati, Dec 28: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to arrive in Assam on Sunday night for a two-day visit aimed at inaugurating various projects and addressing a public gathering, as confirmed by officials on Saturday.
Upon his arrival, Shah will stay overnight at the State Guest House located in Koinadhara.
On Monday, he plans to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Assam movement against illegal immigration at the newly established ‘Swahid Smarak Kshetra’. Following this, he will head to Batadrava Than in Nagaon district, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, to inaugurate a cultural initiative at this spiritual site.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma previously mentioned that the state government has worked diligently to restore the dignity and splendor of Batadrava Than, which has been cleared of encroachments.
The Chief Minister remarked, 'Batadrava Than, now free from encroachments, stands as a testament to the determination required to safeguard our heritage.'
Shah will then return to Guwahati to inaugurate a new facility for the Guwahati Police Commissionerate and an Integrated Command and Control System (ICCS) designed to enhance the city's security.
According to Sarma, the ICCS will oversee more than 2,000 CCTV cameras across Guwahati, improving security and emergency response capabilities in the region.
'This will significantly enhance Guwahati’s safety. On December 29, Honorable @AmitShah ji will inaugurate the new Police Commissionerate and an Integrated Command and Control Centre, which will monitor over 2,000 CCTVs to strengthen security and emergency response systems,' the Chief Minister shared on a microblogging platform.
Additionally, on the same day, Shah will open the Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Complex, an auditorium with a capacity of 5,000 seats in Guwahati.
He is also expected to address a public rally at this complex before departing for New Delhi.
