Overview of Amit Shah's Gujarat Tour

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat starting Thursday, where he will participate in over a dozen events, including an inspection of the Harami Nala post located along the India-Pakistan border. Scheduled for May 28-29, this visit holds significant importance as Harami Nala is situated in a highly sensitive bay area near the disputed Sir Creek region in the Rann of Kutch. This area, located close to Bhuj in Kutch district, is strategically vital for the Border Security Force (BSF) due to its geographical position, security challenges, and maritime access.

Significance of the Harami Nala Area

The bay system is shallow, marshy, and poses monitoring challenges, making it highly susceptible to illegal infiltration, smuggling, the movement of suspicious boats, and potential terrorist routes. The BSF has previously seized several Pakistani fishing boats in this region.

Planned Activities in Gandhinagar

During the first part of his itinerary, Shah will engage in 12 events in Gandhinagar. These include inaugurating the newly constructed Zedwa village pond, funded by the Anandam family through CSR, and a new reading room supported by Toyota Kirloskar Limited. He will also sign a memorandum of understanding between Toyota Kirloskar Limited and the state government.

Further Initiatives and Inaugurations

Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a pond beautification project, inaugurate a newly built village panchayat office, and a primary school under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Motibhoyan, along with additional libraries funded by Toyota Kirloskar Limited. Other activities include laying the foundation stone for the Sonipur village pond and inaugurating various development projects in the Kalol and Gandhinagar (North) assembly constituencies.

Activities in Ahmedabad

Following his engagements in Gandhinagar, Shah will inaugurate the new regional office of the Central Board of Secondary Education and a newly constructed hostel building at the Mata Umiya Dham complex in Ahmedabad. He will also unveil the 'Bharat Mata Square' constructed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and review preparations for the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and World Police and Fire Games in the city.

Final Day Activities

On May 29, Shah will inaugurate the G-7 Sentinel Conference at the border post and inspect the Harami Nala post in Bhuj. He will review footage from PTZ surveillance cameras in the control room and tour the Harami Nala area by boat. Additionally, he will participate in a tree plantation campaign at the jetty point of the Harami Nala area.
