Amit Shah Unveils Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Illegal Immigration
Government's Comprehensive Border Security Initiative
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced a zero-tolerance approach towards cross-border infiltration, revealing that the government will launch a comprehensive smart border project this year aimed at securing India's borders and deporting all illegal immigrants. Speaking at the Border Security Force (BSF) oath-taking ceremony in Delhi, Shah emphasized that illegal immigration is a calculated conspiracy designed to alter demographic patterns artificially.
Identifying and Deporting Illegal Immigrants
Shah reiterated the government's commitment to safeguarding the nation's demographics by identifying and deporting every illegal entrant. To achieve this, the Home Ministry plans to establish an impenetrable security perimeter along India's 6,000-kilometer international borders. He stated that within the next year, the BSF will be equipped with modern technology, including drone radar and advanced cameras, under the smart border initiative.
Collaboration with Local Authorities
The Home Minister urged the BSF to extend its intelligence network beyond physical borders by coordinating with state police, district collectors, and village patwaris to combat infiltration and cattle smuggling. He mentioned that policy alignment with the governments of West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura would strengthen this security framework, and the Home Ministry will soon convene meetings with the chief ministers of these states.
A Call to Action Against Infiltration
Drawing parallels with efforts to eradicate left-wing extremism, Shah stated that merely controlling a problem does not equate to security; it must be uprooted entirely. He called on the BSF to tackle infiltration with the same resolve. Additionally, he announced the upcoming launch of a high-level demographic mission to support frontline personnel. Acknowledging the BSF's dedication, Shah remarked that since its inception, the force has assured complete security across the nation, allowing the country to remain worry-free.
Celebrating the Growth of the BSF
He expressed immense pride that the BSF, which began in 1965 with just 25 battalions, has now grown to a force of 270,000 personnel, making it the largest border security force in the world. Managing two of the country's most challenging and sensitive borders, the BSF has never faltered. Regardless of the challenges faced, the adversary has been defeated, and the BSF has ensured that India’s dignity remains intact. The grand structure of national security is firmly anchored in the indomitable courage, valor, and supreme sacrifices of the BSF.
