BJP's Election Manifesto Launch

Kolkata: On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) election manifesto for the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal, which are scheduled for later this month.

The BJP refers to this document as the 'Sankalp Patra'. In a morning social media update, Shah highlighted the desire for change among West Bengal residents, who are disillusioned by the governance of the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Shah's post stated, 'Bengal, tired of TMC, now seeks change. Today in Kolkata, I will unveil the BJP's 'Sankalp Patra' aimed at liberating Bengal from TMC's 'reign of terror'. Following this, I look forward to engaging with the people of the state during a public meeting in Debra, West Midnapore, and a roadshow in Kharagpur.'

According to the itinerary, Shah will conduct two rallies on Saturday, starting at Chhatna in Bankura district and then moving to Baghmundi in Purulia district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has a busy agenda in West Bengal on Saturday, where he is expected to hold three back-to-back campaign rallies in Jangipur (Murshidabad district), Katwa (East Burdwan district), and Balurghat (South Dinajpur district).

On April 11, the Prime Minister will spend the night in Siliguri, located in the Darjeeling district, and will participate in a roadshow in Siliguri town the following day.

Earlier this week, Modi addressed three consecutive rallies in Haldia (East Midnapore district), Asansol (West Burdwan district), and Suri (Birbhum district).

The Prime Minister commenced his campaign in West Bengal on April 5, with a significant rally in Cooch Behar town.

The Assembly elections will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, covering 152 constituencies in the first phase and 142 in the second. Election results are expected to be announced on May 4.
