Amit Shah's Visit to Kerala
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the BJP's headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, with Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar also in attendance. During the event, Shah remarked that Kerala is a sacred land, being the birthplace of the revered figure, Sri Adi Shankaracharya. He paid homage to the soul of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and acknowledged the sacrifices of party workers who have diligently promoted the party's ideology.
Amit Shah highlighted that the BJP has elevated its worker conferences to a scale comparable to those of other political parties, symbolizing the future of the BJP in Kerala. He outlined three key perspectives for Kerala's development under Prime Minister Modi: a corruption-free governance, equitable access to government schemes, and a focus on Kerala's growth beyond political gains. Shah noted that while both the BJP and CPI(M) are cadre-based parties, there is a significant difference; in Kerala, the welfare of the cadre is paramount, whereas for the BJP, the development of Kerala takes precedence over cadre interests.
Shah asserted that the path to a developed India passes through a developed Kerala. He emphasized that without the growth of powerful southern states, a developed India is unattainable. The mission of the BJP now centers on achieving a developed Kerala. Before launching the party's campaign for the upcoming local body elections and next year's assembly elections, Amit Shah inaugurated the new BJP state committee office, Maraji Bhavan, in Thiruvananthapuram.
During the inauguration, Shah raised the party flag, planted a sapling in front of the building, cut the ribbon to enter the premises, and lit a traditional lamp to mark the official opening of the new office. Upon arriving in Kerala late Friday, the Union Home Minister also paid tribute to the late K.G. Marar, former president of the BJP's Kerala unit, by placing flowers at his bronze statue, which has been installed in the central hall of the new building.
