Call for Investigation into Sabarimala Incident

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the gold theft at the Sabarimala temple, urging for an impartial investigation by a credible agency.

While addressing newly elected BJP representatives from local bodies and launching the party's Mission 2026 for the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala, Shah stated that those who failed to protect the temple's assets cannot safeguard the faith of the people.

He emphasized that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can ensure the protection of devotees' faith in Kerala. Shah remarked that the gold theft at Sabarimala is a matter of concern not just for the people of Kerala but for devotees across the nation.

Shah mentioned that he has reviewed the First Information Report (FIR) related to the case, indicating that its formulation suggests an intention to shield the accused. He raised doubts about two individuals linked to the Left Democratic Front (LDF), questioning how a fair investigation could be conducted under such circumstances.

He further alleged that the Congress party cannot be exonerated either, as evidence of its leaders' involvement has emerged. Shah urged Vijayan to assign the investigation to an unbiased agency, stating, 'This is democracy, and you must appoint a fair investigative body.'

Targeting rival political ideologies, Shah declared, 'Communism has ended globally, and Congress is in decline in India.' He asserted that Kerala's development is only achievable under a BJP-led government.

The central minister concluded by stating, 'Our path has never been easy. Ensuring BJP's victory in Kerala is a significant challenge. Our ultimate goal is to establish a government under the lotus symbol and bring a BJP Chief Minister to power.'
