Amit Shah's Strong Statements on Naxalism

Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that Naxalism is in its final stages, claiming that the government led by Narendra Modi has nearly eradicated it in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region. He criticized the Congress party for failing to ensure welfare benefits for tribal communities in affected areas during their tenure. While detailing the government's efforts to eliminate Naxalism in the Lok Sabha, Shah questioned Congress on why they did not secure progress in Naxal-affected regions, emphasizing that Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) has no connection to development.

Comparisons with Historical Figures

Shah expressed his disapproval of comparisons made between certain individuals and historical figures like Bhagat Singh and Birsa Munda, stating that such comparisons are unacceptable. He remarked, "We are not living under British rule anymore. How can you compare those who fought against the British with those who break the Constitution and kill innocents?" He urged that political interests should not overshadow discussions on such serious matters.

Call for Surrender and Dialogue

Reiterating his message from public platforms in Bastar, Shah called on those advocating for dialogue to lay down their arms, assuring them of government support for rehabilitation. However, he noted that many refuse to surrender their weapons. The government's stance is clear: they are open to talks with those who disarm, while those who choose violence will face strict consequences. Shah concluded by stating that a Naxal-free India is being realized under Modi's governance.

A Promising Decade

He remarked that the past twelve years have been particularly auspicious for the nation.
