Amit Shah's Address in Kolkata

Amit Shah addressed a gathering in Kolkata on Saturday, stating that the practice of Judicial Security Inspection (SIR) has been implemented nationwide, but there was no need to deploy judicial officials anywhere except in West Bengal. While speaking to the people of Bengal, Shah questioned whether the infiltrators residing there should be allowed to determine the state's future. He emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to identifying and expelling every infiltrator from the country, not just from voter lists but from the entire nation, which he described as his party's agenda. The Home Minister also asserted that the security of the Siliguri Corridor is at risk due to the Trinamool Congress's (TMC) vote bank politics.

Concerns Over National Security

Shah remarked that the security of the nation is somehow linked to the elections in Bengal, claiming it is the only state from which infiltrators are entering and causing unrest. He criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of constantly playing the victim. Shah pointed out that she often pretends to be injured or ill, only to later express helplessness before the Election Commission while criticizing the institution. He conveyed that the people of Bengal have become aware of her tactics of feigning victimhood.
