New Delhi, Sep 17: On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed heartfelt birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting his remarkable journey characterized by service and dedication, which serves as an inspiration to many.
Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, PM Modi has been in office since May 26, 2014, marking his third consecutive term. He holds the distinction of being the longest-serving Prime Minister in India's history and represents Varanasi in Parliament.
Prior to his role as Prime Minister, he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 until 2014.
In a message shared on X, Shah expressed, "Warm birthday greetings to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, a true embodiment of relentless effort, sacrifice, and vision."
He further remarked, "Modi ji's life, where he has embraced work as his spiritual practice and national service as his life's mission, is a profound narrative of dedication, sacrifice, and steadfast determination. His journey, rich in service and commitment, inspires millions across the nation."
Shah concluded with a prayer for Modi's long life and health, expressing hope that under his guidance, the nation will continue to achieve new milestones and strive towards the vision of a developed India by 2047.
In conjunction with the celebrations, Shah is set to visit Vadnagar, Gujarat, on Thursday to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s 'Vadnagar to Varanasi' Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra, part of a broader campaign commemorating PM Modi's birthday and his 25 years in public service.
The yatra will commence at 9:30 a.m. from Vadnagar, Modi's birthplace, where Shah will engage in various activities throughout the day.
Simultaneously, a 'Varanasi to Vadnagar' yatra will kick off from Varanasi, with notable attendees including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
These dual bike yatras are central to the BJP's 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', which launches on Thursday.
The party has announced that the two yatras will collectively cover approximately 40,000 kilometers, traversing 193 districts and around 1,159 villages across 10 states.
About 1,000 youth are anticipated to participate, with 500 riders heading from Vadnagar to Varanasi and another 500 making the return journey.
The yatras are expected to conclude on October 7, coinciding with PM Modi's 25 years in public life.
In Vadnagar, Amit Shah's activities will commence at 8:15 a.m. with a Maha Aarti at Sharmishtha Lake, followed by a padayatra, the flag-off for the Vadnagar-Varanasi Seva Yatra, and the initiation of a cleanliness drive at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple.
