Amit Shah Awards President's Colour to Puducherry Police

On August 9, in Puducherry, Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the prestigious President's Colour to the Puducherry Police. The formal event took place at the Puducherry Armed Police Ground in Gorimedu, where Shah honored the police force's ensign officer. Accompanying him was the Director General of Police, Shalini Singh.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy. This recognition was announced by President Droupadi Murmu on May 8, acknowledging the police force's 'exemplary service, discipline, and notable achievements.'
This award represents the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a military unit or the police of a state or union territory. Previously, this accolade has also been awarded to the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard, and various state police departments.
