Amit Shah Announces Renaming of PM Office to 'Seva Tirth'
Significant Milestone in India's Development Journey
On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the renaming of the Prime Minister's Office to 'Seva Tirth' as a crucial step in India's journey towards becoming a developed and exemplary nation across all sectors.
In a post on 'X', Shah stated, "For the past 11 years, the Modi government has been synonymous with service rather than power, with the highest leader of the government considering himself a 'Pradhan Sevak' and working tirelessly for the public 24/7."
He further mentioned, "In this spirit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed the commitment to service by renaming the Prime Minister's Office to 'Seva Tirth'. Additionally, the Raj Bhavan and Raj Niwas will be renamed to Lok Bhavan and Lok Niwas, respectively."
Shah emphasized that this change marks a significant milestone in the golden journey of building a developed and exemplary India, prioritizing service and good governance. Officials announced that the new complex of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) will now be referred to as 'Seva Tirth'.
According to officials, the construction of the new complex, part of the Central Vista redevelopment project, is nearing completion. Previously known as the 'Executive Enclave', this complex will also house the Cabinet Secretariat, the National Security Council Secretariat, and 'India House'.
