BJP Leaders Set to Energize West Bengal Campaign
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP National President Nitin Nabin, is set to embark on a vigorous campaign across West Bengal this Saturday, ramping up efforts ahead of the second phase of polling scheduled for April 29.
Shah's day will kick off with a public gathering in the Jamalpur Assembly constituency at 2:15 PM, followed by another rally in the Shyampur Assembly constituency at 3:45 PM in Howrah (Rural).
In the evening, he will spearhead two significant roadshows—one at 5:00 PM in Shibpur, covering Howrah Central and Howrah South constituencies, starting from Ramrajatala Shankar Math, and another at 6:15 PM in Tollygunge and Jadavpur constituencies, commencing from Ranikuthi Crossing in South Kolkata.
This extensive outreach initiative aims to solidify support in both rural and urban areas of the state.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare J.P. Nadda will also amplify the BJP's campaign with a series of roadshows in key constituencies.
Singh is slated to participate in two roadshows, starting at 12:30 PM in Goghat and continuing at 2:00 PM in Sonarpur Uttar, focusing on enhancing support in rural and suburban regions.
Nadda will lead two major roadshows to engage voters in crucial Assembly segments, with his first event at 11:30 AM in Raina Assembly constituency, covering the route from Kamarhati Chandipur More to Gotan Bazar, followed by a second roadshow at 5:00 PM in Bardhaman Uttar Assembly constituency.
Additionally, party chief Nitin Nabin will conduct a series of roadshows and interactions in significant constituencies.
His first roadshow is scheduled for 10:00 AM in Baranagar, starting from the BSF Camp Crossing to the Tobin Road Bus Stand, followed by another in Ashoknagar at 3:00 PM, and a third in Sreerampore, Hooghly, at 5:00 PM. The day will wrap up with an intellectual meet at 7:00 PM at Bika Banquets in Howrah, where party leaders will engage with professionals and thought leaders.
This high-energy campaign is taking place against a backdrop of increasing political momentum in the state.
On Friday, HM Shah praised the impressive voter turnout during the first phase of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, expressing optimism about the BJP's performance.
He remarked, "The enthusiastic participation of voters signifies a transition from fear to trust," and thanked the electorate for their significant turnout, asserting that this momentum would carry into the upcoming phases.
The second phase of polling is set for April 29, with vote counting scheduled for May 4. With senior leaders actively campaigning across various constituencies, the BJP aims to capitalize on its early momentum and fortify its position in this critical electoral contest in West Bengal.
