Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury Memorial Award to Honor Nilam Dutta for Agricultural Innovation

Dutta, a resident of Biswanath district, is recognized for his role in promoting self-reliance and job creation through his initiatives. The award ceremony will take place on December 18, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury, at the Sri Sri Madhavadeva International Auditorium. This award honors individuals who inspire others through their achievements and contributions to society.

Recognition for Agricultural Excellence


Guwahati, Dec 16: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), in collaboration with Assam Unnati Sabha and Assam Sena, has announced that this year's Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury Memorial Award will be awarded to Nilam Dutta, a distinguished farmer and entrepreneur.


Dutta, who hails from the Pabhoi region in Biswanath district, plays a pivotal role in the Lakshmi Krishi Bahumukhi Prakalpa and is the founder of Pabhoi Greens Private Limited.


He has been honored with this award for his significant contributions to entrepreneurship, agricultural advancements, and his commitment to fostering self-sufficiency and job creation.


The Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury Memorial Award is a joint initiative by AASU, Assam Unnati Sabha, and Assam Sena, aimed at recognizing individuals and organizations that have excelled in their fields while inspiring others through their achievements.


This award pays tribute to Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury, a notable thinker and nationalist who greatly contributed to Assamese literature and advocated for a structured economic movement to bolster Assam's socio-economic framework.


Organizers noted that Dutta’s initiatives in agriculture and agribusiness have opened up numerous job opportunities and serve as a beacon of inspiration for the youth.


The award ceremony is scheduled for December 18, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury, and will take place at 2 pm at the Sri Sri Madhavadeva International Auditorium within the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.
