Aman Sehrawat and Antim Panghal Advance to Finals
Aman Sehrawat and Antim Panghal have successfully reached the finals in their respective wrestling categories at the Asian Games, held on Saturday. Aman made a remarkable comeback in his semifinal match against Kyrgyzstan's Aiaal Belolyubskii, overcoming an initial 2-6 deficit to secure a 14-8 victory, as reported by ESPN.
Earlier in the tournament, Aman showcased his skills with a commanding 20-0 win against Japan's Yamato Ogawa in the round of 16, followed by a 12-1 triumph over Kazakhstan's Nurdanat Aitanov in the quarterfinals.
Antim Panghal's Impressive Performance
Antim also demonstrated resilience in her semifinal against China's Zhang Jin. After trailing 0-1, she turned the match around with a strong second round, ultimately winning 6-1 to secure her spot in the final of the women's 53 kg category.
Prior to this, Antim had defeated Kazakhstan's Shugyla Omirbek 9-0 in the round of 16 and followed it up with an 8-0 victory over Uzbekistan's Sakibjamal Esbosynova in the quarterfinals.
Deepak Punia and Sagar Jaglan Eye Bronze Medals
In the men's freestyle 97 kg category, Deepak Punia narrowly missed out on a final spot after losing 8-9 to Uzbekistan's Sherzod Poyonov in the semifinals. He will now compete for a bronze medal.
Deepak advanced to the semifinals after his opponent, Hong Kong's Li Wui Fung Vincent, forfeited their quarterfinal match. Earlier, he had convincingly defeated China's Junpeng Zhou 12-2 in the round of 16.
Sagar Jaglan faced a tough challenge in the men's freestyle 74 kg quarterfinal, suffering a 0-10 defeat to Iran's Yones Emamichoghaei. However, he bounced back in the repechage round, defeating Uzbekistan's Razambek Jamalov 7-3 to earn a place in the bronze medal bout.
Manisha Bhanwala's Journey Concludes
The medal matches are scheduled for the afternoon session, starting around 2:30 PM IST. On Day 14, another Indian wrestler, Manisha Bhanwala, faced Japan's Akari Fujinami in the women's 57 kg quarterfinal but was unable to advance.
Manisha had reached the quarterfinals after a dominant 8-0 victory over South Korea's Youngjin Kwon. Unfortunately, her chances for a repechage ended when Fujinami was defeated 0-10 by North Korea's Son Il Sim in the semifinals, ending the Japanese wrestler's unbeaten streak.

In archery, Dhiraj Bommadevara has advanced to the semifinals of the men's individual recurve event after a close 6-2 victory over Amirkhon Sadikov in the quarterfinals.
The top-seeded Indian maintained his composure in the final set, scoring a 10 with his last arrow to clinch the win and move one step closer to securing an individual medal at the Asian Games.
