Allegations of Rape in Kaushambi District: Local Man Arrested

In a troubling incident in the western region of the Sharira police station area in Kaushambi district, a man, who is a father of five, has been accused of raping a minor girl from his own village. This information was disclosed by the police on Monday.

The police registered a case following a complaint lodged by the victim's father, leading to the arrest of the accused.

Details of the Allegation

According to J.P. Pandey, the police circle officer of Kaushambi, the victim's father reported to the police that on Saturday evening, his 15-year-old daughter went to wash utensils at a hand pump. It was then that the neighbor, Ramkumar Saroj, aged 42, allegedly dragged her into his animal enclosure and assaulted her.

Upon hearing the girl's screams, her family rushed to the scene, prompting the accused to flee. The family then took the victim to the police station, where a formal complaint was filed against the accused under relevant sections of the law and the POCSO Act.

Arrest and Medical Examination

Following a tip-off, the police successfully apprehended the accused, Rajkumar Saroj. The victim's statement has been recorded, and she has been taken for a medical examination.
