Allegations of Cow Meat Sale Lead to Assault in Northwest Delhi

The complaint was filed by a 15-year-old minor from Vijay Nagar, who claimed to have purchased meat at a rate of 400 rupees per kilogram from Chaman Kumar (44), a resident of Kaushik Enclave in Burari. The minor later suspected that the meat was cow meat.
Public Reaction and Police Response
Following the rumors regarding the sale of suspected cow meat, members of various organizations gathered outside Kumar's shop and assaulted him. The police reported that he is currently undergoing a medical examination.
A police team was dispatched to the scene after receiving a PCR call.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are collecting and reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to understand the sequence of events. A senior police official stated, 'Samples of the meat have been seized and sent for forensic testing to determine if it is indeed cow meat.'
The official added, 'We are investigating the case from all angles and will take action based on the forensic report.' The police also mentioned that the situation in Vijay Nagar is currently under control, with additional forces deployed to prevent any further incidents.
