Allahabad High Court Dismisses Abbas Ansari's Petition Challenging Forensic Report

Court Ruling on Threatening Speech Case

The Allahabad High Court has rejected a petition filed by Abbas Ansari, the son of Mukhtar Ansari and a former legislator, regarding a threatening speech case. The petition aimed to contest the forensic report related to an alleged audio recording of the speech.

Justice Samit Gopal dismissed the petition on the grounds that the trial in the subordinate court had already concluded, and a sentence had been pronounced. The court stated, 'Since the order dated April 9, 2025, is referenced in the current petition and the hearing in this matter has been completed with a verdict delivered, the court finds the present petition to be futile.'

Furthermore, the court noted, 'If the concerned party has objections to the decision, they can always challenge it in the relevant subordinate court. Therefore, the current petition is dismissed under Section 528 of the B.N.S.S.'

Abbas Ansari is accused of sharing a platform during an election rally in Mau district on March 3, 2022, where his brother threatened administrative officials following the election results.

After a video of the alleged threatening speech went viral on social media, the police in Mau registered a case against the Ansari brothers under Sections 171F (undue influence in elections) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code in March 2022.
