In a shocking incident in Pune, Maharashtra, an unidentified individual posed as a courier delivery executive and allegedly assaulted a 22-year-old woman in her apartment. Authorities reported this incident on Thursday, revealing that it took place on Wednesday evening around 7:30 PM in a housing society located in the Kondhwa area of Pune. According to a senior police official, the victim was alone at home as her brother had stepped out for a brief errand. The assailant, disguised as a delivery person, entered the flat and reportedly committed the crime before fleeing the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest that the attacker may have used a spray on the victim prior to the assault, although this detail has yet to be confirmed. The police are actively investigating the case.
Details of the Assault
The suspect allegedly sprayed something on the woman's face before proceeding with the assault. Officials stated that the perpetrator entered the society around 7:30 PM, claiming to deliver a package. Although the woman informed him that she was not expecting any delivery, he insisted that a signature was required. Upon opening the security door, the man sprayed her face and reportedly assaulted her. After the attack, he took a selfie with her phone and left a chilling message stating, 'I will be back.' The police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.
Another Disturbing Incident
In a separate incident earlier this week in Pune, two unidentified motorcyclists allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl. This occurred around 4:15 AM on Monday on a highway in the Daund area. According to police, the car carrying the girl and three other women had stopped for the driver to grab tea. A police officer informed that when the driver stepped out to use the restroom, two unknown individuals approached the vehicle, threatened the occupants with sharp weapons, and stole their gold jewelry. Subsequently, one of the assailants dragged the minor girl out of the car and assaulted her.
