Concerns Raised Over Neglect of Vajpayee's Hometown

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, has expressed concerns regarding the alleged neglect of Bateeshwar, the ancestral village of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He urged the Uttar Pradesh government to clarify why this significant location associated with Vajpayee is being overlooked.


In a post on X, Yadav remarked on the occasion of Vajpayee's birth anniversary, drawing attention to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He questioned the reasons behind the neglect of Bateeshwar, asking if there is a specific motive behind it.


Yadav further criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for constructing towering statues for political gain, asserting that they fail to create genuine memorials in honor of individuals. He claimed that the BJP's statues are politically motivated.


Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, and his ancestral village, Bateeshwar, is located in Agra district, Uttar Pradesh. He passed away on August 16, 2018, in Delhi. The government observes his birth anniversary as Good Governance Day.
