Akhilesh Yadav Questions Yogi Adityanath's Energy Policies

On Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), directed criticism towards Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the ongoing electricity crisis, raising doubts about the state government's action plan. He remarked that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lost its strength. In a social media post, Yadav questioned whether Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma was invited to the Chief Minister's review meetings, noting that the two ministers are rarely seen together.

Yadav hinted at internal discord within the party, stating that BJP legislators and MPs have written letters against their own government.

He also mocked the Chief Minister for not attributing the energy crisis to a 'conspiracy by messengers sent by the people of Delhi.' Expressing frustration over power outages, he accused the government of deploying Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel at power substations to shield itself from public outrage. Yadav asserted that in the upcoming elections, the public would decisively reject the BJP.

He emphasized the need for clarity on whether the energy minister is excluded from the Chief Minister's review meetings or simply not invited. If he does attend, Yadav suggested that the Chief Minister should post a photo of them together, as the public has never seen them in unison. He further criticized the BJP's governance, stating that PAC personnel are stationed at substations while legislators cowardly write against their own government to avoid public anger.

Earlier, Yogi Adityanath had claimed that uninterrupted electricity supply is a top priority for his administration. He stated that providing consistent power to all consumers, including the general public, farmers, traders, and industrialists, is essential. Adityanath mentioned that he has reviewed the electricity supply system with officials from the energy department and distribution companies, instructing them to work with sensitivity and accountability to ensure smooth power supply across the state. He reiterated that the dual-engine government is committed to bringing convenience, trust, and development to every citizen's life.
