Akhilesh Yadav's Strong Criticism of RSS
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during his Independence Day speech, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp critique against the organization. Speaking to reporters in Lucknow, Yadav remarked that the members of the RSS are 'nationalistic in words but foreign in spirit.'
Modi's Commendation of RSS
Yadav's comments were a direct response to Modi's assertion that the RSS is the 'largest non-governmental organization in the world.' The Prime Minister highlighted the organization's century-long commitment to national welfare, stating, 'A movement was born a hundred years ago, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. For a century, this organization has dedicated itself to the welfare of the nation... The RSS is the largest non-governmental organization in the world.' Modi praised the 100-year journey of the RSS and its dedication to nation-building.
Preparing for Global Challenges: Akhilesh
On the occasion of Independence Day, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized the need for the country to be prepared to face global challenges. He stated, 'The stronger our farmers are, the stronger our country will be economically... We must also accept the challenges when countries threaten us, sometimes in the name of markets, sometimes in the name of land.' Yadav also called for securing the nation's borders and demanded the abolition of the Agniveer scheme.
Targeting Yogi Adityanath
Yadav did not spare Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath either, accusing him of deceiving the entire BJP. He claimed, 'He was neither a member of the BJP nor did he like the party's ideology. He only joined the BJP to sit on the Chief Minister's chair.'
