Akhilesh Yadav's Strong Criticism of BJP at AI Summit
During the recently concluded AI Impact Summit, Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party and an ally of the Congress's India Block, expressed his support for the 'shirtless' protest by the Indian Youth Congress. He sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its alleged security lapses at the summit held in the national capital.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav emphasized that security breaches have been a consistent issue under the BJP government, with questions raised from the very first day of the AI summit. He stated, 'This is entirely a failure of BJP's security. You have not established any infrastructure for AI initiatives. When you showcase things that are not Indian, it is natural for people to be upset.' He firmly asserted, 'This is a democratic nation, and everyone has the right to protest, but this feels like a dictatorship.'
Yadav also mocked the BJP administration's understanding of governance, mentioning that while their government is filing IP documents, some officials do not even know what IP stands for. Earlier, on February 21, he criticized the shirtless protest by the Indian Youth Congress at the AI Impact Summit, stating it was 'embarrassing' for the country.
He remarked that the Congress should not have engaged in such acts in front of foreign representatives at the Bharat Mandapam.
The SP leader acknowledged that there may be internal differences among them, but he insisted that the entire nation knows the BJP is dishonest. However, he stressed that they should not have done anything that would bring embarrassment to the country in front of international representatives. The 'shirtless' protest by the Youth Congress took place on February 20 inside the summit venue, where the group accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making 'compromises' and claimed that India's identity was being undermined in the AI program.
