Akhilesh Yadav's Reaction to BJP's By-Election Defeats

Lucknow, August 3 - The national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav, targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, labeling their defeats in various state by-elections as a 'double loss of the double engine.' In a post on 'X', he remarked, 'Those who are arrogant enough to dance to the tune of God have been made to dance by God. Those who consider themselves above God have been thrown out of a moving vehicle, shattering their pride.'

Yadav attributed the BJP's defeat to the unity of the youth and the anger of their parents.

The SP leader accused the BJP of undermining public trust through 'vote theft, paper leaks, donation fraud, job theft, reservation violations, commission corruption, oppression on PDA, corruption, inflation, adulteration, and disrespect towards mothers and daughters.' He stated, 'Now even BJP members will demand resignations from their own. How can they expect to navigate the boat when they couldn't even save their own assembly?'

In the by-election for the Bankipur assembly seat in Bihar, BJP's candidate was defeated by Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party.

This by-election followed the resignation of BJP's national president Nitin Nabin from the assembly. Akhilesh Yadav criticized both the state and national presidents of the BJP, saying, 'The happiest people in Uttar Pradesh are those who were given state-level positions instead of national ones due to their PDA background.' He added, 'If the national president couldn't win the assembly, how will the state president manage to contest? This is a 'double loss of the double engine.'

Yadav expressed that the BJP's defeat marks the beginning of change, indicating that even the party's traditionally secure seats will no longer be safe.

He congratulated the victorious candidates, expressing hope that they would meet new expectations and remain committed to the Constitution.
