Akhilesh Yadav's Criticism of BJP's Handling of Power Issues
On Thursday, Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, targeted the BJP government regarding the ongoing electricity crisis in Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that the much-discussed Gujarat model has failed amidst severe heat and power-related issues. In a post on X, Yadav remarked that the 'transformer of the Gujarat model' in UP has exploded, with sparks flying from forcibly connected wires. He noted that even when there is no power supply, the meters continue to run, and the public is demanding accountability from BJP leaders.

The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh also mocked the BJP leadership, questioning what can be expected from their followers if their trainers have failed. Yadav asserted that citizens are raising concerns about the BJP's crisis management, asking why BJP leaders seem to surrender whenever a problem arises. He shared a news report highlighting the alleged failure of AK Sharma, the state's energy minister and a former IAS officer from Gujarat, in managing the electricity situation.
Previously, on Wednesday, Yadav had launched a strong attack on the BJP, stating that the public would decisively reject them in the next elections. He posted on his official X account that the people would thoroughly punish the BJP, ensuring they are permanently sidelined. In the same post, he criticized the Chief Minister for failing to address the electricity crisis, sarcastically noting that it was fortunate the 'unsuccessful Chief Minister' did not blame the crisis on a conspiracy from Delhi.

He further questioned whether the energy minister attends the Chief Minister's review meetings or is simply not invited. If he does attend, Yadav requested that a photo be posted showing the two together, as the public has never seen them in the same frame. He pointed out that under BJP rule, PAC is deployed at power substations, and legislators write letters against their own government to avoid public backlash. Yadav concluded that the BJP no longer has any current.
