Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Government Over Indigo Flight Cancellations
Akhilesh Yadav's Concerns on Indigo Flights
The leader of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, raised concerns on Sunday regarding the cancellations of Indigo flights, claiming that the government is not exerting any pressure on the private airline. He attributed this to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) having received electoral bonds from the airline.
During his visit to Saharanpur, Yadav spoke to reporters about the inconvenience faced by passengers due to the flight cancellations. He stated, “If we empower industrialists, they will exert pressure on the government. There is no pressure on Indigo from the government; the BJP has taken electoral bonds from them. Capitalists are dominating the government.”
According to a statement released from the Samajwadi Party headquarters in Lucknow, the former Chief Minister criticized the BJP government for rampant inflation, unemployment, and corruption. He noted, “There are no jobs or employment opportunities. Looting is rampant in police stations, and the value of the rupee is continuously declining.”
Yadav emphasized that the government should operate according to the Constitution and follow the path laid out by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution.
Regarding the intensive revision of the electoral rolls (SIR), he remarked that the Election Commission should focus on ensuring that as many people as possible are registered to vote. He accused the process of cutting votes from the public.
He further claimed that the BJP is losing in Uttar Pradesh, which is why votes are being cut. Yadav asserted, “Given the current situation, we estimate that between two to three crore votes will be cut. People are searching for documents to register their votes, and there is a large-scale cutting of votes.”
