Akhilesh Yadav's Press Conference Highlights Concerns Over Reservation

On Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, accused the BJP government of weakening the reservation system. He stated that citizens are being compelled to approach the courts to secure their constitutional rights. During a press conference at the party headquarters, Yadav unveiled a document titled 'PDA Audit,' which addresses the exploitation of reservation policies. The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh mentioned that this document will continue to evolve, incorporating more data over time.

Yadav introduced the term 'PDA' in June 2023, representing 'Backward', 'Dalit', and 'Minority'. He expressed concerns that dominant forces are attempting to eliminate reservation in the job market. He criticized the misleading slogan 'NFS' (Not Found Suitable) and accused the BJP of facilitating job placements for ideologically aligned individuals through backdoor methods. He asserted that the BJP is deceiving the public and trying to win this age-old battle against inequality through unfair means, even attempting to influence the judiciary.

Targeting the ruling BJP, Yadav remarked that if students and candidates must resort to the courts to enforce constitutional provisions, it indicates a biased government. He claimed that needing to seek judicial intervention for constitutional rights signifies government partiality, which is inherently treacherous. Partiality, he noted, is a form of injustice as it strips individuals of their rights.

Criticizing the arbitrary actions of the BJP government, Yadav suggested that if the government insists on using bulldozers, they should direct that power towards bridging the inequality gap and ensuring everyone receives their rightful reservation.
